The Elephant in the room

Yes, we know. The referendum didn’t exactly go as planned for us pro-Europeans, but we’ve picked ourselves up, brushed ourselves down and decided to get on with business. Have a look at our post-Brexit mission statement.
"We will always be European."

The Young European Movement was founded in 1972 - before the UK became a member of the EU. We intend to be around for a long time afterwards. We will continue to discuss European issues, spread European messages and strive for cooperation with the continent. So long as we uphold our values, defend our rights and preserve our democracy, we will always be European.

YEM UK is steered by a team of dedicated volunteers elected at our AGM. Say hello to the current board!

Juuso Järviniemi

Juuso is a second-year student in International Relations at the University of Edinburgh. He first joined the sister organisation of YEM in his native Finland in 2014, and became involved with YEM immediately after moving to the UK. Juuso has also held various positions at JEF.
