Meet the board!
Say hello to the volunteers who run things at a national level.
The national board is elected every year at the annual general meeting. All paying YEM UK members are eligible to stand and vote.
The board meets frequently (usually once a week) via Skype to discuss upcoming events, campaigns and cooperation with our partners, as well as to coordinate the local sections when creating national movements. The members are spread out across the UK and the continent, making it a truly European group of people! Read a bit about the different roles and the people in them. Feel free to get in touch!
Liam Mcdonald, President
In between studying maths and testing whisky (yes, it’s a real job), Liam coordinates the work of the National Board and is the public face of YEM UK
Thomas Grandjouan, Local Branch Officer
Thomas’ role is to support our local sections. This can involve helping to grow and develop existing ones, forging new partnerships and establishing new sections up and down the country.
Anna Wilson, Communications Officer
Hello! I’m Anna and I’m in charge of communications for YEM UK.
I’m based at the University of Warwick where I study politics and history and just got back from living in Vienna while I spend my Erasmus year at Universität Wien. My role involves maintaining YEM’s social media – posting, tweeting, pinning – as well as compiling the monthly newsletter. I am also responsible for the website and making sure YEM’s message gets out there and I create the graphics, animations and infographics for YEM’s campaigns and events
Feel free to contact me with questions or suggestions. If you see something (or even write something!) that you think YEM’s members should see, send it my way!
Laura Krawczyk, International Officer
As well as studying law in Aberdeen, Laura represents YEM UK overseas and keeps us up-to-date with events in the rest of Europe.
Jo Roddy, Treasurer
Chris Stenseth, General Board Member
As a General Board Member, Chris is flexible with the tasks he carries out – one day he could be filling in a grant application, the next he could be ordering campaign materials. If help is needed, Chris is there
