Meet the board!
Say hello to the volunteers who run things at a national level.
The national board is elected every year at the annual general meeting. All paying YEM UK members are eligible to stand and vote.
The board meets frequently (usually once a week) via Skype to discuss upcoming events, campaigns, and cooperation with our partners, as well as to coordinate the local sections when creating national movements. The members are spread out across the UK and the continent, making it a truly European group of people! Read a bit about the different roles and the people in them. Feel free to get in touch!
Chris Powers, President
Thomas Grandjouan, Local Branch Officer
Thomas’ role is to support our local sections. This can involve helping to grow and develop existing ones, forging new partnerships and establishing new sections up and down the country.
Dominic Buxton, Communications Officer
Dominic Buxton is in charge of maintaining YEM’s social media. That includes Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
Dominic Buxton was born in London and from the age of three, lived with his family in Germany. Upon returning to England thirteen years later, Dominic attended Rye Studio to study filmmaking.
Dominic first developed an interest in politics during the EU referendum in June 2016. Outspokenly pro-European and disappointed by the result, he joined the Liberal Democrats.
Laura Krawczyk, International Officer
As well as studying law in Aberdeen, Laura represents YEM UK overseas and keeps us up-to-date with events in the rest of Europe.
Jo Roddy, Treasurer
Chris Stenseth, General Board Member
As a General Board Member, Chris is flexible with the tasks he carries out – one day he could be filling in a grant application, the next he could be ordering campaign materials. If help is needed, Chris is there
