Are you looking for a way to interact and debate with European elections candidates?
Have you ever wanted to meet actual politicians who represent your voice?
Are you a student looking for a productive way to procrastinate?
Or are you simply interested in the European elections?
If any of these apply to you, then please attend our interactive debate with European candidates on the 29th of April at 19:00.
The St Andrews Young European Movement is excited to announce its very own FREE event based around the upcoming European elections. Everyone is welcome (students and non-students alike) to attend and participate in our debate on the 29th of April from 19:00, St Salvator's Quad, School 3.
We are not politically motivated, we simply wish to start a healthy debate about the role of the Youth within Europe as well as policies targeting youth-related issues. We wish to offer a platform in which candidates, voters and ideologies meet and discuss. Issues such as youth unemployment, education, youth immigration and euroscepticism will be debated. There will also be a small introduction about what is new in the elections, and each candidate will be able to present his/her party's political opinions.
We are proud to have confirmations of actual candidates or politicians:
- Labour MEP David Martin
- LibDem candidate to the European elections Christine Jardine
- Green candidate to the European elections Alastair Whitelaw
- SNP MSP Roderick Campbell
- SNP candidate to the European elections Toni Giugliano
...as well as Prof Jo Shaw from the University of Edinburgh to chair the debate!
We would strongly encourage anyone with a remote interest on Europe to attend. Get excited and see you there!
